The action takes place in 1914 on the eve of the First World War. A neuropathologist who has developed a new methodology for treating patients with paralysis of muscles (contractures) comes to the provincial city. He receives letters from the mysterious senders with a request for help and suddenly finds out that the club has been operating in this inhibitory town with contractures. The club gathered people who suffered a lot. They believe in the existence of Androgynov - people from a different world seeking their half on earth.
