Zinaida Nikolaevna Gippius (1869-1945), the extravagant beauty of the Silver Age, is most often remembered alongside her famous husband - Dmitry Merezhkovsky. In many ways, they were truly inseparable. The spouses complemented, inspired, and provoked each other in life and creativity. However, it would be a big mistake to perceive Gippius only as a muse in this union.
