Dmitry Nikolaevich Sverbeev, a nobleman, a retired diplomat, a warm owner of the Moscow salon, is known primarily by his memoirs created in the last years of his life. In them, he describes the events of the 19th century brightly and in detail. And their many contemporaries who lived at this time, accompanying memories of excursions into the history of the 18th century. The memoirist gives particular importance to the characteristics of the people of his era, and therefore the reader appears to the gallery of perfectly executed verbal portraits of contemporaries: the family of obstacles, Kikin, language, norov, head -to -horsemen, I. Kapodistria, F.T. Kolarm, A.I. Gerzen, V. F. Odoevsky, N.I. Turgenev, A.S. Shishkova and many. other memoirs are supplemented by materials from the personal archive of the Sverbeyevs.
