Valentin Alexandrovich Serov (1865 – 1911) was a great Russian artist, one of the main portrait painters of the Russian modernist period at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, and an academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts. His works have been popular for over a hundred years, and his life is of great interest to the public. This book presents Olga Serova's memories of her father against the backdrop of the social and political life of Russia at that time, in which Serov was an active participant. In addition, unique memories of V.A. Serov by his cousin Nina Simonovich-Efimova are included: written in Moscow during the Great Patriotic War, they were kept in the author's family archive.
