The book proposed to the reader is the next volume of the publication of the musical and historical heritage of the outstanding French writer and musicologist Romen Rollan (1866–1944), which was started by the publishing house "Music" in the 1980s. Tom composition includes two books from the Beethoven cycle. Great creative eras": "Goethe and Beethoven" and "lovers of Beethoven", the latter is published in Russian for the first time. For the first time, the Russian translation of the lecture "thanksgiving Beethoven", read by Rollan in Vienna in March 1927, was published for the first time. The publication is addressed to professional musicians, as well as to everyone interested in the history of musical culture
