The textbook recommended by the Russian Chess Federation will help students to significantly expand their knowledge in all stages of the chess game. The book will introduce tactical techniques that are often found in practice, such as the destruction of protection, lumber, intermediate move, overlap, blocking, x -ray. Much attention is paid to the debut theory: young chess players will get acquainted with some ideas of the royal gambit, the protection of two horses, a ferose gambit and a number of other debuts. The foundations of the positional game are dedicated to the chapter "outpost in the center", "Weak fields near the king", "Evans Gambit", "Who is stronger: an elephant or a horse?". Children will deepen their knowledge in pedestrian endings, as well as learn the basic principles of the game in the final and easily figure endgises. They are trained in solving combinations and completing tasks on all topics considered in the manual. Each chapter is accompanied by colorful illustrations.
