Is it necessary to explain to the current generation what buzz was 30 years ago, in the era of Woodstock, or, say, 15 years ago, when we had a heyday of tape culture? Now there are already completely different highs, and to remember how good it was when we were young is stupid. After all, it is interesting, in essence, something else: the feeling with which you sit at night in someone’s kitchen, someone reads aloud nearby, and you suddenly hear Brodsky’s poems for the first time in your life. This is the present. Unlike those fake cardboard scenery in which we all lived under the Soviet regime.
And you do not need to succumb to illusions that now everything has changed. As the Soviet government was, it is. It’s just that then the stalls had one shape, and now - another. This culture is ineradicable: plastic, fake, made somewhere in the closed factory of the Central Committee or at the Chinese underground factory, one feature. All the same, she is fake. But Brodsky is real. And Hendrix is real. And Miles Davis. And Bunuel. And the film Blow Up. And what was done in our magnetic recording was also real. All this has nothing to do with how we were taught to live and think.

To live for real. ” And when I entered the society of people who did something in the field of culture, I realized that I was right. The whole society around was plastic, but everyone, if desired, could, observing moderate decency, soar in spirit anywhere. If you behave reasonably, then even now you can do at least your whole life: soar yourself and help people free yourself from the endless garbage that is happening around.
