Safronov Vadim Aleksandrovich - Doctor of Biological Sciences, Leading Researcher at the Institute of Neurosurgery. Academician N.N. Burdenko RAS.
Analyzed the definitions of the muscular tone and the methods of its research. The most informative way recognized the study of the muscle reaction to the forced stretching and shortening. A device is described for studying this reaction in a wide range of vestibilities of passive excursions limbs. This method gives the most complete information about the state of the neuromuscular system. The results of the research of healthy people and patients with impaired muscle tone during Parkinsonism, with a cerebellum lesion, with cerebral palsy, with peripheral innervation disorders and in spasticity. Studies were conducted on patients undergoing treatment at the Neurosurgery Institute. N.N. Burdenko. It is shown that an important mechanism in the regulation of the muscular tone is a shortening reaction. For the first time, the mechanism of this reaction is explained. It is similar that the generation of shortening reaction is the background supracegmentary activity generated by stochastic activity, mainly the highest departments of the central nervous system of the brain. The important role of this activity in the functioning of the central nervous system is emphasized. Particular attention is paid to stochastic activity, which has practically not studied and its importance for living systems is still at the level of assumptions and hypotheses. Problem issues on the study of stochastic activity were discussed earlier in the monograph of Safronov V.A. Tonic regulation of motor reactions. In the depths of the processes of the brain.
