The book discusses the formulations, conceptual and mathematical features of solving multi-criteria optimization problems. Algorithms for solving deterministic, stochastic, and fuzzily formulated problems are provided in conditions of absence and presence of constraints, as well as problems with flexible (fuzzy) constraints. Issues related to processing information about experts' opinions and preferences are considered. The proposed approaches are illustrated with practical applications in the field of optimal investment distribution, evaluation of product quality and competitiveness, expert examination for selection for financing and implementation of the most effective projects, assessment based on qualification testing results and the level of training of specialists and applicants, as well as decision-making in purchasing housing and choosing a place of work.
All the issues discussed in the book are illustrated with graphical interpretation and a large number of numerical examples.
The book is primarily intended for economists, managers, firm and enterprise leaders, private entrepreneurs, and engineers whose functions include making multi-criteria compromise decisions.
