About the book
The author, on a personal example and example of other people, tells how an internal critic works, how to recognize it and how to deal with it, and also offers techniques for overcoming these stupors, preventing them from fully realizing themselves.
From the author
I wrote this book for the same reason as half a dozen others - because I wanted to read it and could not find it in a bookstore. This is a book about the voice that sounds in my head.
Since childhood, I constantly hear this quiet voice commenting on everything that I do. He discusses the decisions that I am taking, tells what others think of me, warns that it can happen bad if I do it or that. And he almost never shoves!
Although this voice sounded in my head, I always knew that it was really not me. The voice was not like me and did not help me. He deprived me of freedom of action. Scared me. He did not let sleep at night. If this voice was me, then I did not want to be like that at all.
I began to be interested in this issue and realized that every creative person whom I met faced such a problem. In general, almost all reasonable people suffered with this. And if such a voice lives in every head and these heads somehow manage to cope with complex tasks: they invent the iPhone, teach Italian, the retrospectives of their work are held at the Guggenheim Museum, which means that you can fight this voice and defeat it. Many succeeded.
For whom this book
For those to whom the inner voice interferes with creating.
For those who want to defeat a little critic and gain freedom.
