The adaptation is based on the famous novellas "Cat Tales" by the renowned English children's author Edith Nesbit (1858-1924). The captivating stories, seasoned with kind humor, as well as the expressive and accessible English language, make them irresistibly attractive not only for children but also for adults. All seven stories are united by one beginning - they are told by a mother cat to her kittens. Every day, closer to the evening, a big striped fluffy cat and her three multicolored kittens snuggle in the hay in the barn. Each time, one of the kittens asks the mother to tell some interesting story, and after brief persuasion, she agrees. This manual is developed in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard (FSES). It will help elementary school students prepare for the mandatory final exam in English in a new format for every student. After each story, there follows a commentary and translation of difficult words and expressions, as well as exercises that take into account the new requirements of the final certification. They are aimed not only at checking the understanding of the text but also at practicing vocabulary, grammar, as well as developing reading, speaking, and writing skills. The exercises have two levels of difficulty, which allows each student to demonstrate their level of knowledge and skills. At the end of the book, there is a glossary, a test in the format of the final exam for the 4th grade, as well as answers to all exercises and test tasks. The manual is addressed to elementary school students, starting from the second year of study, as well as to a wide range of people studying English.
