This book tells about the life and accomplishments of the Metropolitan of the Moscow and Kolomna Filaret (Drozdov) (1782-1867) For forty-six years, he headed the Moscow Department and had a huge impact on the movement of Russian public thought towards national self-identification. The main labor of his life was the translation of the Bible into modern Russian, as the main thing was for him the constant ministry to God, drawing up and reading the sermons, thanks to which contemporaries ordered his Moscow Zlatoust. St. Philaret participated in the most important state affairs, the state trucks and many famous people in Russia were treated for the Council, new temples were erected with it and the old ones were restored. Under his spiritual leadership was built by the Church of Christ the Savior in Moscow.
