For many generations, the list of Moscow's attractions traditionally was limited to the Kremlin and Red Square with the Saint Basil's Cathedral, Lenin's Mausoleum, and GUM. But over the last few decades, the Russian capital has changed significantly. One of the key directions of urban development has been the move towards polycentricity. New squares and parks are becoming centers of attraction and are setting modern standards for amenities. At the same time, a whole range of large-scale multifunctional development projects continues to be implemented in the city. Our guide to Moscow is a convenient and indispensable reference for anyone interested in the architecture of the capital. The book presents more than 550 historical and modern buildings, structures, parks, and squares. The objects are accompanied by richly illustrated descriptions, prepared by city experts. The publication takes the reader through all the most important epochs of Moscow's history: from the 15th century to the present day. Detailed maps and QR codes will make it easy to find any objects.
This edition was prepared in collaboration with the Moscow City Tourism Committee. The book is published in English and Russian on the occasion of the 875th anniversary of the city of Moscow.
