Vladimir Popper graduated from Stroganov School and graduate school of the Institute of Theory and the history of architecture in Moscow. His thesis on the Stalinist architecture "Culture Two" was published in Russian (Ardis, 1985, UFO, 1996, 2007) and in English (Cambridge University Press, 2002) Since 1981 he lives in the USA. This collection is a continuation of the previous "Mos Angeles" (UFO, 2004) Here are collected by articles written at different times, memories, notes and stories. Threads that unite different texts in the genre, this is a clash of cultures, the conflict of their and someone else"s, the art of the culturologist. The author"s ability to write funny about serious and seriously about funny is also manifested in autobiographical, and in, conventionally speaking, historical and cultural sections of the collection, making each text of a fascinating reading.
