Sergey Fomichev's new book includes poems from recent years. This unique poet is easily recognizable by a special intonation, where deep Russian lyricism is combined with lyrical narrative. In Fomichev's texts, there are reflections on life, on his own destiny, on human emotions. The basis for this is his impressions, both sensory and visual.
Two days of silence and long mooing,
Untouched bottomless emptiness,
I am not myself, tired of partings,
And now I do not know where You are.
With this quatrain, Fomichev begins to immerse us in the sweet world of his images. This world is very diverse. Here, for example, we see a sharp lyrical statement, where the poet makes us participants in his loneliness, but at the same time does not allow us to lose hope. Overall, the general tone of Fomichev's poetry is bright, despite the dramatic intensification of some constructions and the density of the lyrical context, more passionate than pacified. Light is the ultimate goal of human wanderings for him, whether it is achievable or not is not so important, the main thing is to walk this path. Fomichev invites the reader on a journey. And, I am sure, the reader will not regret this journey.
