The term "monotype" itself comes from the Greek words "monos" - one, and "typos" - an imprint. The process of its creation in a classic, initial meaning is as follows, a pattern is created on a smoothly polished metal board with oil paints, which is transferred to paper using an outlet machine. The print can be obtained only in a single copy, remaining a unique, copyright work.
