The publication is dedicated to the monasteries and temples of the city of Torzhka of the Tver region and is illustrated by photographs of their current state. The ensembles of temples and their unusually picturesque location make the Torzhok the object of exceptional cultural value. Now in Torzhok there are no stone temples over the 17th century, and in many cases they are significantly distorted and require restoration. The main fund is made up of the churches and cathedrals of the XVIII - early XIX centuries, built in the style of late classicism in the era of the largest heyday of the city. In the same architectural style, residential and civilian buildings were built in the center of Torzhok, which contributed to the creation of a single city ensemble and provided the temples with a harmonious environment. Famous architect K.I. Russia erected in Torzhok the Transfiguration Cathedral and the Crusader Cathedral, the brilliant examples of the architecture of classicism. The names of the architects N.A. are inscribed in the history of the city Lviv and I.F. Lviv and their followers, who also created in the style of late classics. A significant part of the cult and civilian buildings of Torzhok requires restoration
