"Sovereign" is the most significant and ambiguous work of the Florentine State Worker of the Renaissance of Niccolo Makiavelli. For many years, this book was associated with the policies of poison and dagger. After entering the light of the sovereign, the term "Makiavelism", denoting cynicism, permissiveness, doublus in politics appeared. However, today many of the author"s positions are perceived not so unambiguously, finding their embodiment in the history of the twentieth century. In addition to the sovereign in this edition, another famous work of Machiavelli "reasoning about the first decade of Tita Libya" is published, complementing and clarifying many moments of the author"s main labor. Both texts are presented in the most modern translation to date and are equipped with notes
