Marina Ryklina's autobiographical book "Mom, Drop Anchor" is structured as a series of stories about family, friends, interesting episodes of journalistic work that began at the News Press Agency and unexpectedly continued at the Russian Emergencies Ministry. Each story captures moments of the era. They are all very different, but sometimes harshly reflected in the author's biography. This book is a continuation of conversations with children, and now with grandchildren, whom she often didn't have time for due to her constant busy work schedule. This book is also about how it is possible to remain a beloved mother and wife despite endless business trips, late work hours, and a constant, tearing feeling that you might miss the most important moments - not seeing how children change, not being there to help in times of serious distress, simply not being there when they are having fun or when something suddenly happens.
