The book in a brief and accessible form contains material concerning the problem of the morphological assessment of damage to nerve cells and detecting molecular markers of neurodegeneration. This problem acquires particular relevance in conducting diagnostic studies using modern immunocytochemical approaches, the advantages and disadvantages of which are not yet properly reflected in the special literature.
The paper presents new data on molecular mechanisms of cell death and early cytochemical signs of neurodegeneration. The changes in the nerve cells, which can be recorded when using the classic neurohytological technique - the color of the nissile are considered. Attention is drawn to artifacts and possible errors in the interpretation of the results obtained using various methods of studying the nervous system organs. Chapters 5 and 6 present detailed descriptions of modern immunocythochemical techniques used in experimental modeling and in the diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases.
The publication is addressed to a wide range of specialists using morphological approaches in assessing the state of the nervous system organs in both the clinic and during experimental studies (neurologists, neurobiologists, pharmacologists, pathologists, forensic experts).
