The textbook is designed to develop skills in oral and written translation, both in class and independently. The manual contains 15 interconnected lessons that cover modern and significant topics - world events, scientific developments in the field of medicine and technology, social phenomena, and culturally significant events. Each of the lessons includes a thesaurus, texts and sentences for translation, bilingual dialogue, a list of key words for the lesson, exercises for oral translation by ear with and without recording. Within the framework of the textbook, theoretical aspects related to types and kinds of translation, translation norms, pre-translation text analysis, transformations in translation, and the influence of the test style on translation are also covered. The manual also contains translation comments necessary to prevent common mistakes and suggests topics for study in class.
