This edition is the first comprehensive textbook in both domestic and international practice on the aural comprehension of contemporary music. It selects and systematizes the typical difficulties of mastering the musical language of the 20th century (its modes, melodic structures, harmony, and rhythm). Special attention is paid to the issues of reading modern musical notation from a score.
