The two-volume university course "Modern Russian Literary Language" by the well-known Russian linguist A.N. Gvozdev (1892-1959) is a quite unique phenomenon in Russian studies of the second half of the 20th century. Unlike most other university theoretical courses, which are usually the result of collective work, this is the work of a single author, characterized by unity of purpose and conceptual integrity.
In addition to lexicology, which the author also intended to consider in the future, A.N. Gvozdev's textbook covers all sections of the course "Modern Russian Language." This book is a continuation of the first part of the manual ("Phonetics and Morphology," Moscow: URSS, 2009), and it provides a systematic exposition of the university course on the syntax of the Russian language.
The book is intended for Russian and foreign philology students, Russian language teachers, including those teaching it as a foreign language, linguists of various specialties, and anyone studying the Russian language.
