The study manual contains a categorical apparatus and presents the main provisions of a comprehensive study of modern mass communications and the media. Particular attention is paid to the structure of Russian media space: Dynamic analysis of traditional media and new media, as well as institutions, on which the state of media space is depends today. Special sections are associated with the evolution of media space. Media, arising in connection with an uneteened environmental approach to the problem are considered, proposed ways to eliminate them.
