Vasily Afanasevich Voronov was born in 1948 on the farm of the Yushchevka, Semiluksky district of the Voronezh region in a peasant family. He studied and grew up in the Kasharsky district of the Rostov region. At the end of the Literary Institute named after A.M. Gorky worked in district, regional and central newspapers, editor -in -chief of the journal Don, chairman of the Rostov regional branch of the Russian Writers Union.
At the very beginning of the creative path of a young writer, Mikhail Sholokhov noticed. Meetings and conversations with the great master had a deep influence on the literary addictions of Vasily Voronov.
The novel "Pokryazhsky subject" continued in the "Pigryazh" cycle with novels "Pantheon" and "Municipal People". The writer himself says about his work: "At the turn of the XXI century, I clearly realized that a new angle of view needed to write about modern Russia. Otherwise, it is difficult to understand the social catastrophe, the breakdown of the whole structure, the human hopelessness. I mixed and connected a grotesque, irony and metaphor in my palette. "
