Jules Michel (1798–1874) - a famous French scientist, writer and historian. His novel of the story "Witch" is both a work of art and a kind of monograph about the role and place of a woman in the era of the Middle Ages. Michele creates the image of a woman-genius, witch-blessings. The bride of the devil, the bride of the wind is distinguished by a subtle mental organization, she compares herself with a sad desert plant that does not have roots. The heroine constantly studies medicines and poisons, re -opening nature for people, penetrates into the future, causes the past. The philosopher J. Batai, criticizing this work, nevertheless admits that it is "in terms of poetics - a masterpiece of Michel."
