Life does not spoil Joanna Til: first her mother dies from cancer, and then the girl herself has to fight the disease for two years. Having decided that the work is the best medicine for longing, Joe, an ornithologist by profession, goes to the rural wilderness of Illinois to study the features of nesting of a bird"s singer - an indigestic cardinal.
