Boris Alexandrovich Sadovskaya - a poet, prose writer, memoirist, historian of literature, was well known in literary circles in the late XIX - early twentieth century. In the post -revolutionary years, Sadovskaya, suffering from a serious illness, led the recluse life and was almost not published, but continued active writing.
This book introduces readers to Sadovsky’s prose, created from 1909 to 1941. In these works, the characters created by the fantasy of the writer intersect with real historical personalities - Pushkin and Lermontov, Emperor Nicholas I and Metropolitan of the Moscow Philaret, while the characters and actions of all actors were discharged so plausible, with such subtle psychologism that the reader feels immersed in The most thick events. The author widely uses, along with genuine, fictional documents characteristic of the described period: diaries, letters, memoirs.
