The name of George Isidorovich Polonsky (1939–2001) is well known thanks to the films made by his scenarios: “We will live until Monday” (1968), “The key without the right to transfer” (1972), “Do not leave ...” (1989) But the texts of Polonsky are valuable and they are fascinating, they are distinguished by a virtuoso verification of dramaturgy: under the influence of small, like sand, the acting faces of his stories are changing, the truth is deformed inconspicuously ... Incredible effort may be required in order to maintain himself, go against fear, and overcome fear or pain. The fictional worlds of Polonsky are deprived of this sweetness (the kingdoms of Abidonia or Puhoperonia, for example), not without reason his fairy tales are for adults. Heroes always follow high ideals. But not every character is a hero. And in the wonderful kingdoms too
