The summer of 1943 stood. Two years have passed since the day when the Nazis attacked our homeland.
Much has changed over these two years. Many glorious victories were already on the account of our army. She defeated the Nazis in the great Moscow battle. She inflicted a crushing blow to the invaders near the city of Stalingrad.
After the defeat near Stalingrad and in the Caucasus, the Nazis rolled away for many kilometers to the west. They retreated in the south, were even further driven away from Moscow. Among many other cities, our troops also liberated the large industrial city of Kursk. Here they crashed deep into fascist defense. The so -called Kursk ledge, the Kursk arc formed.
The Nazis dreamed of revenge. They wanted to avenge defeat near Moscow and under Stalingrad and still hoped for new victories.
