The action of the novel unfolds in 1985-1994, a little at the beginning of the twentieth century, and a little in 1941–1944, depending on where the main character is a girl who, in the course of the plot from 4 to 13 years old, they cite. The girl lives in a small Catholic town of Valsarb in the north of Belarus-although, perhaps, the name should be read on the contrary, from right to left, or somehow. The thing is that the girl constantly plays with the words, and they will never guess with her where the truth is and what is behind one or another word.
The girl is very curious and open to the whole new one, which is probably why they chose it. They are former people who once lived in Valsarbe, but after their departure they remained nameless, without monuments and graves. Now they follow the girl on the heels, burst into her dreams and do not disappear anywhere until they are heard and return their names.
"Valsarb" is a poetic story of memory, painful, as the first clash with injustice, piercing, as a dying attempt to rethink life.
In the novel, real historical personalities and events appear.
