Having grown up in an assimilated family and brought up on the principles of respectability and sincerity, the young Rostovsk woman Kira, after the collapse of the USSR, moves with his parents to Israel. The admiration of the Holy Land is replaced by difficulties in searching for work and the arrangement of everyday life, the absence of friends and other psychological difficulties. At some point, Kira decides to return to Rostov. However, the new realities that have developed there during the Yeltsin reforms ruthlessly break the usual ideas about the country where it was born. Kira returns to Israel again in the hope of finding a reliable and quiet harbor in the promised land. The complex, sometimes tragic ups and downs of the events of the heroine of the novel in the end force her to ask her: is there such a harbor?
