The poet, writer Peter Shmakov was born in 1950 in Kharkov. He graduated from the Kharkov Medical Institute. Worked as a doctor. In 1995 he emigrated in the USA. Lives in the suburbs of Chicago. The novel “Tradition” written in 2003 only today comes to the reader. This is a very uncompromising attempt by the writer to express his understanding of the world. The author is trying, as far as possible, to bring the gospel history to the eyes in order to look at it from its own angle. High and low, heroism and betrayal - all the components of human relations are artistically expressed by the writer in their mixed, unrequited form. Sometimes he uses fragments of his own biography, the realities familiar to him and the images of the people have ever seen by fantasy, but in general the book is a work of art, clothed in the form of a pseudo-documentary narrative
