The manual contains materials for the section "Russian literature of the late XIX - early XX centuries" Course "Literature" ("World Literature", "History of Russian Literature") The purpose of the manual is to contribute to the in -depth and versatile study by students of the literary process of the line of centuries and, in particular, on the example of the work of L.N. Andreeva, to expand the idea of the movement of Russian prose of this period. The book emphasizes the writer"s early works related to the newspaper "Courier" (1900-1903), which allows us to trace the features of the evolution of the artist, as well as to identify the role of his theater feuilletons in the sociocultural reality of the early twentieth century. It was in the theater feuilletons of Andreev that the specific features of his poetics and the originality of his worldview were reflected. The textbook includes: a list of recommended literature for study, control questions on each topic, as well as options for those seminars, which may be tasks for independent practical work of students. The “Appendix” section presents the texts of the theater feuilleton L. N. Andreev (some of which were never reprinted) and comments on them.
