James Oliver Kerwood is a famous American writer, hunter, traveler and naturalist. His books are on a par with the “calling of the ancestors” and “white fang” by Jack London and the “stories of animals” by Ernest Seton-Tompson. Themes, plots and characters of the works of Kerwood are originating from the deaf taiga regions of Northern Canada and Alaska, in the wanderings of which the author spent a significant part of his life.
The most famous novels of Kerwood were included in the present publication. For the first time in Russia, works are accompanied by illustrations of the beautiful Czech artist Stanislav Lalek. Two novels-“Ba-ri, the son of Kazan” and “lightning”-are printed in a new translation
