Cazuo Ishiguro is a nee Japanese, a graduate of the literary course of Malcolm Bradbury, who wrote the most English novel of the late XX century! Nobel Prize laureate of 2017.
"The rest of the day" is the Diary of the butler, life from the point of view of Barrimor. Its stylistics is based on restraint, revealing itself in the very mechanics of speech. The hero does not consider it possible to show his feelings, and at a linguistic level, this peculiar ascosis leads to wonderful results - before us is a sort of back of Dostoevsky with his uncontrollable stream of emotions.
In 1989, for the “remnant of the day,” Ishiguro unanimously received a booker (and this was perhaps the only decision of the Buker Committee in the history of the prize, which did not cause protest) The film adaptation of the same name by James Ivory with Anthony Hopkins in the title role was a great success. And Boris Akunin wrote a kind of Rome"s "RESTURE OF DAY" - the novel "Coronation"
