1946, Manhattan.
Grace Hili survived the Second World War, having lost her loved one. She hoped that the shadow of the past would never disturb her again.
However, everything changes when the girl finds a suitcase hidden under the bench on the way to work. Unable to resist her curiosity, she discovers a dozen photographs in which young girls are captured. Who are they and why were they together?
Soon Grace gets acquainted with the mistress of the suitcase and learns about the twelve women who were sent to occupied Europe as couriers and radio operators to help resistance. None of them returned home.
