The two main characters belong to the generation, the formation of which was in the 90s, they were not up to internal analysis and not until the search for a calling, and they chose philology simply as the most acceptable lesson. Then one of them continues to swim with the flow, working as a translator of fiction, and the second sharply changes his life: he leaves for Norway, sets up on a whaling ship and hunts on stripes, realizing deep down that he had landed to another from one extreme.
years later it turns out that the matter, apparently, is not in calling and not in work. Life again pushes them with each other, either unraveling the old nodes, or tying new ones. Be that as it may, everything is not solved here and not now, "here and now" are a void that you need to survive and understand how you treat it: how to a black hole or as a cocoon from which sooner or later will be released your soul. But if it is released - whether for a long time, because the age of a butterfly symbolizing the soul is short -lived
