He leaves the prosperous civilized America and goes to the Black Continent, to the jungle of the Belgian Congo, with a firm faith in God and with the hope that the Lord will help him turn the locals to Christianity. He preaches violently and passionately, but the locals do not at all eager to accept fertile gifts. They tremendously cherish their shrines, honor the traditions of their ancestors and continue to make their wild, sometimes inhuman, rites.
But in Nathan Price, a riot is brewing in Nathan Price: the households were not ready for the hardships of the life of a deaf African village. Everything seems to them alien and frightening - the ominous gloomy jungle, where death lies in wait at every step, people who meet them with sullen silence, and even Nathan Price himself with his fanatical, not knowing pity by faith
