The "abolished theater" was published in the fall of 1993, this is the last novel by Bulat Shalvovich Okudzhava (1924-1997) And as if his last duty to relatives, the completion of two biographies at once - the history of the family and his own life, until the end of which nothing remained. Honest family chronicle, as it always happens, tells better any textbooks about times and morals. The “abolished theater” helps to understand the tragedy of the generation, who believed in the ideals of the revolution, but not at all for them, but in a meat grinder, arranged by his own people by his loving leaders. No, Okudzhava does not hit journalism, he, as before, is lyrical and ironic, observant and kind to people. The gaze of his beloved child, he is trying to cover the paintings of life in Moscow, in Tbilisi, in Nizhny Tagil, where his father was sent to the construction of the Uralvagonzavod. And almost an optimistic ending ends the book. Luck! His mother manages to get an appointment with the old party comrade, Beria Lavrenty, and ask for the arrested husband. "We will figure it out, I swear my mother!" - exclaims Beria. "At night, she was taken away" - so childhood ended. And the theater ended.
