The new book of Mikhail Litvinsky "that century was scattered as chalk" consists of two dozen stories and one cinematic price - an unusual genre for a writer who prefers more voluminous literary forms. In stories that differ both in volume and in content (memories of the past and the events of our time), the author’s thoughts, his thoughts about time and fate are scattered, like pearls. Like other works of Litvinsky, stories are largely autobiographical. And there is a dash, which gave the name to the book: a fantastic interweaving of the fate of the author with the fate of Bulat Okudzhava, Vladimir Vysotsky and Yuri Vizbor.
