Surrealistic novel by Roland Ax (1938-1997), posthumous Enfant Terrible French art and literature. Social disorder, gradually leading to the loss of personality, collapsing to the size of the apartment, peace, inappropriate discoveries, adventures and shy rebellion - all this fit in the “tenant” (1964), twelve years later masterfully adaptated by the novel by Polanski.
Roland an ax is known primarily as an illustrator artist. On his conscience, a pack of artistic albums, cooperation with satirical magazines, including the popular “Hara-Kiri” and “Le devastateur”, full-length animated films, television series and much more.
Our name is an ax! -Parisian students shouted in May 68th. And they implied far from Dostoevsky
