The novel of the outstanding Catalan writer Zhaum Kabre “The shadow of the eunuch” is a ridiculous and sad story of a sentimental and amorous art lover, the offspring of the ancient family of Zhensan, who, in search of the path, truth and life, devoted his student years of the armed struggle for justice. “The shadow of the eunuch” is a novel penetrated by literary and musical allusions. Like Alban Berg"s violin concert, the structure of which he repeats mirror, the book is a kind of “double requiem”. It is dedicated to the “memory of the angel”, Teresa, and sounds like the requiem of the protagonist, Michelles of Zhensana, by himself - as a dying confession. The hero was in the house where his childhood passed (by cruel will of chance, the generic nest turned into a fashionable restaurant) Like Berg’s concert, the novel tells about the fate of all beloved and lost creatures associated with the house of Zhensan
