The first novel Viet Than Nguena “Symparting” became the laureate of many awards, including the Pulitzer Prize in Literature. In this surprisingly capacious book about the war and the world poisoned by the war, there is almost everything - as in the real world, high and low, comic and tragic, life and death are closely intertwined here. Its action takes place in Vietnam and America, in Laos and the Philippines. It has exciting plot turns and a leisurely description of interesting events, there are thin ironic observations and passionate lyrical passages.
