The English prose writer of Irish origin Bram Stoker gained worldwide fame as the author of the novel “Dracula” (1897), in which, connecting folklore and literary plots about vampires with the figure of a bloody Valash ruler, with the phobias and fantasies of the Latevictorian era, with the ideas of occultism and esoterics and intuitions of the emergency. Freudism, created a new immortal (in every sense of the word) of the hero. The image and name of Count Dracula, glorified by numerous sequels and adaptations of the Stoker novel, became the basis of the multifaceted mythology of vampirism, which was widely distributed in the culture and art of the 10th - 20th centuries.
