The book shows the life path of an ordinary Soviet man born in the war years and witnessed all stages of growth and strengthening of the Soviet Union, and then its collapse. Raised in the spirit of Soviet patriotism and on communist ideas, he does everything as a personnel officer working with foreign military specialists to promote among them progressive ideological and political views and authority of the USSR.
The protagonist of the autobiographical novel did not change his beliefs after the collapse of the USSR and tries to the extent of his capabilities to promote the spread of the idea of the need to return to socialism, while dealing with the problems of the development of statehood of new republics, working in international organizations.
