The novel of the famous Russian writer Boris Minaev is the second part of the dilogy "Soft fabric". The events of a century ago are actively rhyming the author with the problems of the current era, and the private life of ordinary people is under the aim of history. Familiar to us from the Roman "Batist" Dr. Veslensky, Kanevsky brothers and sisters Stein, revolutionary soldiers and leaders of the peasant armies, NKVD investigators and poets, dentists and army bakery - they all form a “soft fabric” of life, which they try to tear to parts of the war and revolution . Nevertheless, not history, but human connections and personal events: love, separation, a desire to protect yourself from hatred and cruelty, an attempt to “lie down to the bottom of life”, the main plot of the plot in the novel
