In the second novel of the famous musical critic Alexei Parina (the first, the "Chronicle of the city of Leonsk", was published in 2015 in the UFO Publishing House), a strange story, allegedly happening today in Europe. Small snakes, Brahmin Sleepins, have become popular in different European countries like pets bringing comfort and tranquility. They are found in different families, Russian and Austrian in Vienna, in the squares of Paris, they are also adored in Berlin. The action takes place in the motley community of the European intelligentsia, represented by several famous families from Russia, Germany, Austria, and France. It is in their midst that the main events of the novel occur, the end of which seems completely unexpected. The text has a complex intrigue that develops sequentially throughout the novel. Three storytellers, on behalf of which are a consistent narrative, have different characters and outlook on life. This gives the "Slepuns" character of the family saga
