In the story "Asik, or dreams about the old Tashkent" with the author, Alter Ego, the second "I" constantly argues him. The double is sarcastically irony in relation to his "master", sometimes mercilessly intolerant. But by and large he loves him. The hero of the second story "short as a sigh, goodbye ..." returns to his hometown after many years. Of course, this is no longer his city. But this journey again and again returns him at the best time, the time of love and hopes. And he understands that years are meaninglessly wasted on bustle and pursuit of success. And dreams remained only dreams. The book is intended for a wide range of readers
