The most famous, largely autobiographical novel of an outstanding French writer about love, in which she always is - Georges Sand, and he is the poet Alfred de Musset. The story that at one time shocked all the Parisian light is at the same time simple and complex: two lovers go to Italy, but do not find happiness there, but experience the tragedy of mutual misunderstanding and a painful gap for both. But the meaning of the novel is not exhausted by the conflict of characters, because both heroes are talented artists, and this introduces into the novel the problem of the creative personality and laws of creativity
